East Lancashire’s leading businesses were recognised at the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s Presidents Awards.

It was smiles all round as Promethean, Oswaldtwistle Mills, Holland’s Pies and Kitchener 2000 collected first prizes at the glitzy event which celebrated and honoured Lancashire’s finest businesses.

The Lancashire Economic Partnership sponsored the Outstanding Contribution to the Area award which was awarded to Holland’s Pies for their positive contribution to the local economy and community. The company was also highly commended in the Large Company of the Year award.

Winning the International Trade award, sponsored by the International Trade Club, Promethean has displayed phenomenal growth from a small division of a local business to a major worldwide force boasting 250 local employees and 12 offices around the world.

Picking up the Large Company of the Year award, sponsored by Taylors Solicitors, Oswaldtwistle Mills was praised for its year-on-year growth with profits up 50% and 10% staff expansion. Taking over the Woolworths site and developing a state of the art business and conference centre also impressed the judges.

Kitchener 2000 picked up the award for Commitment to Training for their strong emphasis on training and sound systems in place. Regularly celebrating their achievements, Kitchener has recently had excellent feedback from Investors In People.
